In a recent Instagram post shared just five hours ago, Esther Kemi Gbadamosi (founder of Radioxity Media), announced the forthcoming launch of Africa’s first locally manufactured, studio-grade stop-motion armature kit, a groundbreaking innovation set to reshape the continent’s animation landscape.
According to Gbadamosi, the Radioxity Stop-Motion Armature Kit is the product of months of experimentation, prototyping, and testing, designed to meet the professional demands of stop-motion production while being entirely built in Africa.
A Technical Leap for African Animation
The kit, made from stainless steel and machined brass blocks with silver-soldered construction, features a robust, customizable design suitable for film studios, animators, and educational institutions. It includes:
- A fully assembled armature
- A rigging arm for dynamic puppet movement
- Spare joints for maintenance and adjustments
- A beginner’s assembly and maintenance guide

Gbadamosi noted that the system uses machined brass blocks for universal joints and silver-soldered stainless steel balls seated dynamically in brass sockets, a combination that ensures precision, durability, and smooth motion for professional use..
Designed and Built for the Continent
Radioxity’s new armature system represents a major step for the African stop-motion industry. For years, studios and animators have had to rely on imported rigs that were expensive, hard to service, and difficult to customize.
The Radioxity Armature Kit changes that narrative offering locally made, high-performance alternatives that are designed, assembled, and serviced within Africa.
With an initial run of 50 kits scheduled for production by December 2025, Radioxity will also provide local upgrade services, ensuring users can maintain and expand their setups without relying on overseas suppliers.
“This symbolizes a groundbreaking moment for stop motion in Africa,” Gbadamosi said in her announcement. “We’re building capacity for higher-quality puppets, animation, and production and most importantly, telling African stories our way.”
Presentation at the Creative Africa Forum
Radioxity Media will be discussing the project in detail at the upcoming Creative Africa Forum on Friday, October 17, 2025, where Gbadamosi will speak about the design process, vision, and the broader impact of developing homegrown production tools for animators and studios.
The talk is expected to highlight how this innovation strengthens local creative ecosystems and positions African animators for global recognition.
A New Era for Stop-Motion Storytelling
The Radioxity Stop-Motion Armature Kit marks more than a technical achievement, it’s a symbol of progress.
It demonstrates how African creatives are not only mastering storytelling but also building the tools needed to tell those stories at world-class standards.
As anticipation builds for the December 2025 release, Gbadamosi’s announcement has already sparked excitement among animators, filmmakers, and educators across the continent many seeing this as a defining moment for African animation.
Radioxity Media’s mission is clear: to empower African storytellers with African-made tools, proving that innovation and artistry can thrive right here at home.
Something exciting is coming this Friday, October 17, 2025!
