Africa’s creative scene just got a power boost and it’s called Mission Atlas: Africa’s 3D Revolution Has Begun!
Launched by AfroVFX and powered by Autodesk Media & Entertainment, this is not your average 3D challenge.
It is an open invitation for Africa’s boldest digital artists to tell stories that pulse with the rhythm of the continent through stunning 3D animation inspired by the spirit of African football.
Forget just chasing prize money. Mission Atlas is about stepping into the global spotlight, mastering world-class tools, and proving that Africa’s storytelling power is limitless.

The Story Behind Mission Atlas
Mission Atlas was built on a dream to equip and amplify African creatives.
Participants get free access to a treasure chest of AfroVFX-designed 3D assets: stadiums alive with energy, landmarks that echo history, and monuments that embody pride.
These are not just visuals they are storytelling keys that unlock Africa’s soul in 3D form.
But that is not all. Contestants also receive access to the Autodesk Media & Entertainment Collection, learning cutting-edge skills like crowd simulation, cinematic lighting, and scene layout.
It is not just a competition, it’s a creative bootcamp, a chance to level up while telling stories that matter.

How It Works
Step 1: Register & Submit Your Storyboard
Start with a compelling storyboard and a strong portfolio. AfroVFX will handpick up to 30 semi-finalists with the most powerful ideas.
Step 2: Get Trained & Chosen
Semi-finalists join the CGAfrica platform, where only five finalists will rise. These top teams will access a special online bootcamp complete with Autodesk tools, AfroVFX assets, and expert guidance.
Step 3: Create the Magic
Using tools like Golaem for crowd simulation and Maya for lighting and layout, finalists bring their visions to life.
The challenge? Create a visually stunning 1-minute-2-second short film that captures the heart of African football with creativity, skill, and soul.
