Africa’s premier pop culture gathering is gearing up for its biggest milestone yet! Celebrating 15 years at the center of African storytelling, innovation, and digital art, Lagos Comic Con 2026 has officially opened registrations for creators, businesses, performers, and industry thought leaders.
Scheduled to take place on September 12, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Landmark Event Centre in Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos, this year’s landmark 15th anniversary edition arrives under the powerful theme: “Where Are The Superheroes?”
The theme challenges creators, studios, and fans alike to look around and discover the heroes shaping modern culture, whether they are comic artists building new universes, animators crafting groundbreaking visuals, game developers designing authentic worlds, or cosplayers bringing legendary icons to life on stage.
Calling All Creative Pillars: Opportunities Across the Convention
To make this 15th-anniversary celebration an unforgettable convergence of talent, organizers have issued an open call across six primary creative categories:
1. Comic Publishers & Independent Graphic Novelists
Are you an established comic publishing house or an indie comic creator with fresh stories to tell? The convention is calling on comic book publishers to book exhibition stands and present their graphic novels, manga, webtoons, and comic books directly to thousands of passionate readers, distributors, and collectors.

2. Animation Studios & Visual Effects Houses
With African animation gaining unprecedented global attention across international film festivals and streaming networks, animation studios are invited to secure exhibitor booths to showcase exclusive trailers, pitch upcoming animated series, screen short films, and connect with potential co-producers and fans.

3. Performers & Creative Talents
From live musical acts, spoken word artists, and voice actors to live action performers and stage entertainers, Lagos Comic Con is seeking dynamic performers to own the main stage and deliver show-stopping performances throughout the day.

4. Geek Fashion Brands & Merchandise Vendors
Pop culture lifestyle brands, streetwear designers, graphic tee creators, toy collectors, anime merch vendors, and accessory artisans can register for dedicated vendor booths to sell custom merchandise, collectible figurines, apparel, and geek fashion items to a highly engaged audience.

5. Industry Speakers & Panelists
Thought leaders, film directors, gaming executives, copyright attorneys, and veteran storytellers are invited to register as speakers. Selected panelists will lead masterclasses, keynote speeches, and fireside chats across the Comic, Animation, Gaming, and Creative Campus breakout zones.

6. Cosplayers (Cash Prizes & Main Stage Runway)
Cosplay remains one of the brightest highlights of the convention. Cosplayers from across Nigeria and beyond are invited to take the main stage in full costume. Contestants will walk the official runway, show off their craft, and compete for cash prizes, awards, and exclusive media exposure.

A Decade and a Half of Elevating African Pop Culture
Since its inception, Lagos Comic Con has served as a launchpad for African graphic novels, indie video games, animated pilots, and creative startups. What began as a modest gathering of comic book fans has transformed into a massive multi-zone convention spanning comics, animation, film, books, gaming, and creative education.
By bringing together thousands of fans, investors, digital artists, and international guests under one roof, the 15th edition aims to answer its central theme by proving that Africa’s superheroes exist in the studios, writers’ rooms, and creative minds driving the continent’s cultural revolution.
