Ghanaian Studio Leti Arts Gives Karmzah a Fiercer Upgrade With New Boss Fight and Revamped Combat

Ghanaian game studio Leti Arts is giving players more reasons to return to Karmzah, with a major update to the game’s Steam demo introducing revamped combat, a new mini-boss, refreshed visuals and improvements designed to make gameplay smoother.

Released on October 19, 2026, the update brings several changes to the side-scrolling action-adventure game, including redesigned character movement, a reworked parry system, a new combat ability and save-and-load functionality. The studio is also revising elements of the story and improving the game’s interface as development continues.

One of the biggest additions is Soumaoro the Hollow, a new mini-boss that players will encounter as they explore Gomahsan, giving them another challenge to overcome during their journey.

Combat sits at the centre of the latest update, with Leti Arts reworking several mechanics to make fights feel faster and more responsive.

Character movement has been rebuilt to give players greater control, while adjustments to enemy balancing are intended to improve the flow of encounters.

The parry system has also received an overhaul, with stronger feedback designed to make well-timed defensive moves feel more impactful.

Players can also experiment with a new ability that expands Karmzah’s combat options, adding another element to how they approach enemies.

The addition of Soumaoro the Hollow gives the updated demo a new mini-boss encounter. Beyond the challenge itself, the fight offers players another opportunity to put the revised combat mechanics to the test.

The update extends beyond combat. Leti Arts has introduced new artwork and character models, alongside enhanced visual effects for attacks and special abilities.

The user interface has also been redesigned to make navigation clearer and the overall experience more intuitive. Performance optimisations aim to improve stability and deliver smoother gameplay.

Another practical addition is save-and-load functionality, allowing players to preserve their progress and return to their adventure later instead of having to start over each time they play.

Together, these changes make the demo a more complete introduction to the experience Leti Arts is building ahead of the full game’s release, which has not yet been announced.

Meet Karmzah, the Hero at the Centre of the Adventure

Karmzah follows Morowa Adjei, an archaeologist and explorer whose encounter with an ancient artifact transforms her into a powerful superhero.

With new abilities and her guide Muzu by her side, she must battle strange creatures, navigate dangerous traps and uncover secrets buried in a mysterious world.

The game combines side-scrolling action with puzzles, platforming and handcrafted environments inspired by African mythology and storytelling.

But Karmzah’s story has a deeper history beyond the game. The character originated in an African superhero comic created by Ghanaian studio Leti Arts, with Farida Bedwei as its writer. Morowa lives with cerebral palsy and uses crutches, which become part of her superhero identity and combat abilities.

Through the character, Leti Arts explores representation, resilience and the idea that disability does not prevent someone from becoming a hero. The game carries that identity into an interactive adventure, allowing players to experience Morowa’s transformation and journey firsthand.

How to Play the Updated Karmzah Demo

Leti Arts is encouraging players to try the latest demo, share feedback and wishlist the full game on Steam.

The demo is available through the game’s official Steam page, where players can access the available download and follow future development updates.
